Topic: Ways Into The New Year
Text: John 15:1-10

The Message:

We see the year as counting days and numbers. Some are yet to enter into the new year because they are still in the old year. The new year is not according to the calendar. The new year is a mental creation.
The newness of the man who wants to enter the year. The new year exists in the consciousness of every man. Some of us are still where we were last year. The way you have a mental transformation into the new year, you must have such a mental transformation for your personal life. It's only a new man who enters a new year.

If you cheat in exams or you borrow to survive, you're still in the old year. The only man who enters the new year is a man who is new in all. There must be a change. The new year is a location designated by physicality, existing in the consciousness of man. 

There are routes to enter into the new year:
The way into this new year is solely dependent on the personality of the man with the mental consciousness of the newness of the day ahead.
John 15:1-10

The new year belongs to God; any man that doesn't bear fruit in the new year is taken away, everyone that bears fruit is purged and continues to bear fruit. If you're still in your old ways, you are not bringing any new fruit; you'll be cut off. If you continue in your old way, you're still that old branch with no fruit, and you shall be cut off.

I pray that you may be fruitful this year.
You cannot be your old man and bear fruit; you need to change, bring forth fruit. 

 Ways into the new year 

1. Walking in power and faith:

 If you enter the year with faith, you'll bring forth fruit, and God will decorate your life with fruitfulness. A man without power is yet to be made. Without power, there's no preparation. Beauty within, beauty outside. For a student, you need to read, because it's what you read you reproduce. As a businessman, you need power to enter the new year. You need power to sustain your life. Without power, you're not ready to enter the new year.

2. The way of success, the way of failure:

There are people who have entered the year through failure, and their destiny has been tampered with. Some have entered through success with fasting and prayer. Abide in God, and he abides in you. If you don't abide in God, you've entered through the way of failure. It will not cost God anything to change protocol for your sake if you abide in him. If you have the spirit of hate and deceit in you, you're not abiding in Christ, and you're bound to fail. In all you do, be honest, and that's the way to success.

3. The way of deliverance and bondage:

 The way of deliverance is the way God has spoken about; without me, you can do nothing. When you take God first, you're walking in the way of deliverance. Yet some are walking in the way of bondage (iniquity, fornication, drug abuse, harmful lifestyles)

4. The way of wealth and poverty:

 According to our watchword, a year of great deliverance and great glory.
Some will wait for the new year before planning. December was meant for planning and analysing for the new year. You're definitely walking in the way of poverty if you wait for the new year before planning. It is what you've read as a student that you'll give out academically.

In your business and marriage, you have to plan. You have to be intentional about your spouse and the way you care for your spouse. 

 Modes of Entering the New Year. 

1. Thanksgiving 
2. Seeking the kingdom of God. Matthew 6:33
3. Forget the failure of yesterday.
The fear of death yesterday and the anxiety of tomorrow will kill your today.
4. Do not walk in fear but in faith.
5. Commit your plans to God.
