Topic: CAPACITY BUILDING FOR A STRONGER MARRIAGE (Part 2) 

 

Text: 1 King 4-13

The Message: 

Declaration for married

-Every arrow fired into my marriage, fired against my marriage, back fire in Jesus Name.

-I (mention your name) will love my spouse all the days of my life, nothing will remove your love from my heart in Jesus Name

-(Gold your partner) we bind you together in love, every stony heart is melted, there will be understanding in Jesus Name.

Previously, we talked about what capacity building means and things that we needs to build capacity such as. 

1.Love

2.Communication and understanding

3.Mutual respect and submission

4.Forgiveness and grace

5.Faithfulness and commitment

Today, we will continue….

Philippians 4:6 

6.Prayer and spiritual growth:    A man once said, don't marry a prayer less spouse. Our lives are 60% spiritual, whatever happens in marriage has happened in the spirit realm. A prayer less sister is dangerous. The  Israelites were in battle, Moses hands was raised. You need a man that can stand in gap for you in prayer. There are some battles in your wife's life that you need to stand as a priest and pray. Sister, you don't know how powerful you're until you take your stand and fire back arrows and curses issued on your husband.  Man your wife has a very strong covenant in your life. You must build capacity

 

7.Humility: Philippians 2:3 A selfish man will be a dangerous husband, you must not be selfish. You must put your spouses need above your own. It must not always be about you. You must be able to think of others.

 

8.Encouragement: 1Thessalonians  5:11

When your spouse talk about issues at work, reason with her/him. Nigeria is hard so encourage your spouse. You're in a relationship with a man who is hardworking, encourage him. Your friends may discourage you, ignore them. During period of trials encourage your spouse, else encouragement will come outside your matrimonial home.

9.Serving one another. Galatians 5:18 Serve in love, life does not evolve around you alone. If you torment your family when young, they will terrorize you at your old age. If you've harassed them while young, they will abandon you at home in your old age. In marriage, you must serve, there's nothing special in helping your wife in kitchen as a man. If you don't show your sign of service, you've failed as a man. If you want to lead, you must be a servant for all. Your wife is your babe, wife, side chic etc. at old age she will be your nanny. You must think of your wife's welfare. The woman is the defender, destiny keeper, organizer. It is only a mad man that beats his wife. A partner that cannot serve is not fit to be a spouse. You need yourselves to survive.

In Conclusion, It is a cub that grows to be a lion. If you hate marriage, you won’t enjoy marriage. If you tell yourself marriage is a scam, your marriage will fail. It is what you believe in that will happen to you. If your marriage is failing, it's because the two of you are failing. It takes two to tango.  There are samples of good marriage. If any demon is telling you marriage is a scam, you need to fight the demon. I am here to tell you that marriage is made by God. If you have failed before you'll fail no more.

Questions: What can I do when my husband is pressing his phone, I’m trying to get his attention by correcting him but he’s not yielding. 

Answer: Women do this too. First thing you do is to go very close to him, distract him. Don’t be confrontational, talk politely. Touch his body lightly. The weakest point of a man is a touching. You all hate Delilah but she defended her mission concerning Samson. What you lack is how to capture your husband. A man has five senses Eyes, nose, tongue, lips….. Delilah captured four of the five senses and Samson could not resist.
